Kirsten

Hi I'm Kirsten. I currently live in Palmerston North in NZ.

I have a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing Management and a Diploma in Computer Graphic Design, well, most of the degree really if I ever go back to finish a couple of papers!! Ha Ha.

I love anything involving water and until I embarked on study at Otago Uni, I was a competitive tenpin bowler who was ranked quite well amongst my peers - I might add. Now that I have a career and can afford it, I have started it up again.

I'm a big of a geek really - interested in all things design, art and gadget related. But in saying that, I think I'm a pretty cool geek.

My favourite Warehouse product would have to be the Harrison and Lane range. I love them, good solid products that not only look great, but last too.

So come on, read my blog. Find out what life at The Warehouse for a Store Manager Development Programme participant is really like. Learn about my challenges as well as the awesome friendships and opportunities I get along the way.

Ask me questions, I'm not shy.

This is AWESOME!

I love my new role and store and boy it’s great to be back in Region 4, otherwise known as “home”.

This past month we’ve had assessments to ensure we’re following best practice when it comes to setting up our teams for success.   We’ve also just had our BIG toy sale!  And I have been a busy wee bee in ensuring our store standards are being maintained. So far so good, we can only become more and more awesome as time progresses!

I’ve had expectations delivered to me for phase 3 of the SMDP Programme and all I can say is WOW! There is a fair bit to do but I’m quietly confident that none of it is more than what I would be doing anyway. I just have to be sure that everything is documented, not a bad idea really. And while I’m a lot more relaxed, I am a whole lot busier - but hey, with busy comes excitement and fun!

I’m also getting to know my team a lot more now which is great and they really are a wonderful bunch of people. So now that I’ve settled in quite nicely and things are happening in store and with the team, I can begin to knuckle down and deliver on my SMDP objectives because there is nothing I want more than to be a Store Manager by this time next year.
