Paraparaumu - I’m here!
4 weeks in and I’ve set up a promotion, done some recruiting and received a compliment in regards to store standards. PLUS I found out the engagement score for Mosgiel and I’m pretty stoked about that. Knowing my team were happy in their roles in Mosgiel has definitely given me a confidence boost as I settle here at Paraparaumu. It means that even when tired and stressed and grumpy, I can still provide an informative enjoyable workplace for my team.
So far I’ve been easing into my new role, focusing on just some of the basics in our store to provide a more enjoyable shopping experience for customers. I’m looking forward to developing a team of high performing Team Leaders which hopefully, fingers crossed, will be an enjoyable experience for everyone. So judging by my first 4 weeks, the store has been very easy to settle into as the team have been very welcoming and are all such a friendly bunch that it almost feels as though I’ve always worked here. I’m also keeping in touch with my last team and as I move forward, am applying so much of what I learned from Mosgiel into my new role. I believe I’m much more relaxed, patient and happy here in Paraparaumu which is great as I’ve a much greater work life balance going on and am growing within myself which is really a big part of the SMDP.
