Kirsten

Hi I'm Kirsten. I currently live in Palmerston North in NZ.

I have a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing Management and a Diploma in Computer Graphic Design, well, most of the degree really if I ever go back to finish a couple of papers!! Ha Ha.

I love anything involving water and until I embarked on study at Otago Uni, I was a competitive tenpin bowler who was ranked quite well amongst my peers - I might add. Now that I have a career and can afford it, I have started it up again.

I'm a big of a geek really - interested in all things design, art and gadget related. But in saying that, I think I'm a pretty cool geek.

My favourite Warehouse product would have to be the Harrison and Lane range. I love them, good solid products that not only look great, but last too.

So come on, read my blog. Find out what life at The Warehouse for a Store Manager Development Programme participant is really like. Learn about my challenges as well as the awesome friendships and opportunities I get along the way.

Ask me questions, I'm not shy.

Super YUSS!

Now, before I get into this, forgive me for what may be some airy fairy writing. You see, as of approximately 4hrs ago, I’m on annual leave until the end of May and am SUPER SUPER excited about this!

Wanganui is going awesomely. It is a fantastic store with an incredible team. Mostly we’re currently working on driving standards within the store in regards to recovery, how we merchandise, where we fill and what we are putting in our promotional areas.

Obviously I’m learning heaps about the team and how the store works, but with the Store Manager having only been there for 6 months, the two of us are also learning a few things together. Just with me learning more and being coached in different areas, it makes me feel more determined to get into my own store which is what we are definitely working towards.

So far in the month since I started, we’ve managed to improve on our mystery shopper results and have reset our stockroom which hopefully will allow for better access to stock and a much easier flow of stock in and out each day/night. So to know I’m making a difference already is just a brilliant feeling and, when I return from holiday at the end of May, I’ve a number of things prepared to launch in the store which I’m really excited about.

So I’m going to try and not think of work while on holiday but realisitcally I may do so a few times as I’m full of excitement as to what we will be doing when I return.

So until next time, I’m off to enjoy the amazing warmth and wonderufl shopping that is Thailand.
