Success!
Stocktake has now been and gone and we made it through long days and longer nights to achieve a successful result! The team even finished on time and everyone that was counting and checking were super accurate, which helped give us a successful result. To date, this has been the highlight of the SMDP for me. To be given the opportunity to plan and execute stocktake was an experience I can’t wait to get stuck into when I move on to my next role as an Assistant Store Manager in phase 3 of the SMDP.
We’ve been doing a lot of work in our clothing department over the last few weeks in order to have everything launched for the new Autumn season of clothing and footwear. This has seen a lot of the team helping out in various stages of change and due to the awesomeness of our main clothing team member; we achieved the highest rating after being signed off as compliant. This is a great credit to her and makes me incredibly happy to have such capable team to work with.
We’ve also being doing performance reviews on all of our team. This is great for the team because it gives us a chance to see where they are currently at as well as identifying opportunities to help them become even better at what they do. And in Mosgiel, the team are really great; we don’t lead the company in our mystery shopper results and rank highly for compliance for nothing! They really do enjoy their roles and nothing makes one feel better about going to work when you know your team enjoy it also.
I’ve been looking for new roles now and hope to be signed off from phase 2 in the middle of March. It’s a little bit sad having to move on from stores each time, especially Mosgiel as we really are like one happy family. On the bright side though, I know that as I progress, I’m meeting lots of really cool people, a lot who are becoming very good friends all over the country. Which in a way helps me in my role from store to store if I encounter experiences that they can help with or if I really need something transferred into my store for a customer that I know they have in their store.
The big thing before I move on to my next role is Easter. So coming up is the fun job of setting up our Easter promotion. I’ll be busy making sure everything is going where it should to make it easy for our customers buying their yearly chocolate fix.
So watch this space for next month where we’ll find out how successful our first Easter was and where in the country I may be going for my next role.
