Kirsten

Hi I'm Kirsten. I currently live in Palmerston North in NZ.

I have a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing Management and a Diploma in Computer Graphic Design, well, most of the degree really if I ever go back to finish a couple of papers!! Ha Ha.

I love anything involving water and until I embarked on study at Otago Uni, I was a competitive tenpin bowler who was ranked quite well amongst my peers - I might add. Now that I have a career and can afford it, I have started it up again.

I'm a big of a geek really - interested in all things design, art and gadget related. But in saying that, I think I'm a pretty cool geek.

My favourite Warehouse product would have to be the Harrison and Lane range. I love them, good solid products that not only look great, but last too.

So come on, read my blog. Find out what life at The Warehouse for a Store Manager Development Programme participant is really like. Learn about my challenges as well as the awesome friendships and opportunities I get along the way.

Ask me questions, I'm not shy.

September, September!

If I say it enough, I’ll remember what has happened throughout the month. Haha. It’s been a hectic month, but to be honest, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Having been back for a month, we’ve been nailing process and compliance which are things we do to ensure we operate smoothly and efficiently for our customers. Now, it may come as a surprise to some, but Mosgiel isn’t exactly a big place and we’re not exactly a big store so the items we sell are limited. My job at the moment, considering I love money and sales, is all about making a profit. To do this, I analyse the items we stock and ascertain whether they are items that our customers want to buy. If they’re not, I organise to send them to another store where they will sell. Sometimes we decide to do a “special Mosgiel only” deal on items which is really exciting for me. I love watching the customers get a bargain and watch the products fly out the door.

The big thing we’re all preparing for at the moment is a refit (change around of some areas within our store). This will let us see if we can get some extra space in some areas which are being utilised to their full potential. I can’t wait to get involved.
