Kirsten

Hi I'm Kirsten. I currently live in Palmerston North in NZ.

I have a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing Management and a Diploma in Computer Graphic Design, well, most of the degree really if I ever go back to finish a couple of papers!! Ha Ha.

I love anything involving water and until I embarked on study at Otago Uni, I was a competitive tenpin bowler who was ranked quite well amongst my peers - I might add. Now that I have a career and can afford it, I have started it up again.

I'm a big of a geek really - interested in all things design, art and gadget related. But in saying that, I think I'm a pretty cool geek.

My favourite Warehouse product would have to be the Harrison and Lane range. I love them, good solid products that not only look great, but last too.

So come on, read my blog. Find out what life at The Warehouse for a Store Manager Development Programme participant is really like. Learn about my challenges as well as the awesome friendships and opportunities I get along the way.

Ask me questions, I'm not shy.

Half way through September and things are picking up.

We’re planning our Christmas labour which involves interviewing and hiring temps. I attended our annual Christmas Roadshow to find out what is coming up. I’ve done stocktake and our big conference for the region is this weekend! Also, next week I have stocktake again! I sometimes wonder if the invention of time was a joke and we are supposed to have an extra hour or two each day. Haha, wouldn’t that be something. But then, anyone following this blog would know, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Roadshow was an absolute blast! Catching up with people I know and haven’t seen in a while, meeting new people and seeing some new products and deals coming up for Christmas. It was super exciting! I think having Ricki Herbert as a guest speaker was the icing on the cake however, that dude is simply awesome! I’ve been helping out in other stores for stocktake, with Feilding having been this past weekend and Palmerston North next weekend. For some reason, I really enjoy stocktake. Maybe it’s because I really am a night owl and enjoy the wee hours, or, when I was thinking about it, I really enjoy seeing so many people working together and aiming at the same target. There is just this special feeling you get from stocktake, or I get anyway, and I can’t explain it, it’s just awesome fun!

This weekend it is our regional conference where we all get the chance to be together as a region and let our hair down. At conference, we hold our award ceremony (best store, best region, long service awards etc), get to have a yummy dinner and dance the night away. The Assistant Store Manager’s also get to challenge the Store Manager’s in a skit. I’m pretty excited about this as I think I have managed to learn our dance routine but then, we’ll see on Saturday night if we win!

Hopefully so! So stay tuned for next month and find out… Can Kirsten dance?
